Welcome Community Engaged Arts Practitioners! 

This is a resource website and online portal for arts and culture practitioners and researchers in Asia.

We originally started out as a documentary and resource site for Malaysian practitioners in 2014 and are now evolving into a site to build a network of practitioners in Asia ( current friends of the network are from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Taiwan).

In this site you will find links to friends of the network, information about various projects and events, as well as useful resources and links to what is happening in the region. We hope to continue delving into  themes that help advance community engaged arts practice, such as community and stakeholder engagement, capacity building, networking, and the interrogation of theory.

Community engaged arts work comes in many different forms, with a range of objectives and methods. We also recognise the different frameworks that inform us, and the different contexts in which we work across the region.  What we firmly share in common, though, is a belief in the power of the arts to help transform lives and places and to foster community spirit, and a commitment to working in partnership towards shared goals.
